There is obviously a lot of lyrics I love, but very recently this one´s been burned into my mind:
"See the high priest He took my place When the judge looks to me He saw a son's face Not gonna join you in Your tower of babble, boy Tired of that talkin' I'm sick of that noise" - 16 Horsepower - Straw Foot

For me it is good For me it's just a dream For me, I'm reborn For me, I'm tired For you I am a vision For you I am death For you I am the insurrection For you I am the end
- Sabactani. I'm not sure if lyrics have ever described me quite as well as these two stanzas.

Do you mind elaborating on what you mean? If not, that’s cool. Finding peace in salvation, being tired of the world, holding a truth the world sees as a threat.

I don't think I shared these Homeboy Sandman ones before. "I want a dime piece that smells as good as mcdonalds fry grease and isnt always criticizing my beats"
"Okay the streets aren't paved with gold At least they paved tho Weaker than the euro, stronger than the peso But you get what you pay for, so be grateful Think you the only file in the caseload? This is a crazed, unsafe globe, case closed Complaining oh so much Where else do people even think they're owed so much? We are the 99% locally We are the 1% globally Take a trip where women fertilize their ovaries and diagnosis is "hopefully" It's sobering Cut the "woe is me" It's a work in progress and it may always be But even overseas opportunity is known to be in
America"

"If I were God, we'd all be dead." - A Plea For Purging Anytime I see the crap that is sold in Christian book sections or I see Christians being annoying online (i.e., asserting unbiblical things (if I may be so bold)), this quote, this quote, this quote. Also the Impending Doom lyric in their newest single: "Sometimes I wouldn't blame God if He lit the world on fire."

I love For Today and Impending Doom. 😏 Me too. For Today was the first "heavy" band I heard after becoming a Christian that was blatantly evangelical. Then I discovered Impending Doom... Then I went down the rabbit hole! (And I'm loving the ride!)

Dead in Christ - Man's Black Hole
I hate man, his thoughts, his plans To me, he is the lowest of all Should live in torment here in afterlife Mankind is scum, lame, blind, dumb
Lord, help me see This is no way to think Lord, help me to believe So I can be set free From man's black hole A deathly costly toll Lord, help me see The good in all beings

"All farewells are sudden" is the title of an ambient piece by A Winged Victory For The Sullen, so I suppose we can squeeze that in as a lyric.

I was listening to some Rap/Nu-Metal like P.O.D. and Kutting Ties and just for fun wanted to make a rap/nu-metal lyrics for a song called fount of mercy. This is my lyrics, but I don't know any bands that actually play this or that would want to even sing/rap and scream it, but It is fun to write in every style just to say I could do it.
Fount of Mercy
I was kicking back in dark stained memories Of A black hole past going back to 2003 When a rope was hung of chaotic fabric seams Flesh driven tendencies, nothing but sin up my sleeve Carved up my arm of hypocrisy fantasies Adrenaline NOS blasted screams of blood drained to bleed corruption of seeded weeds sowed along with what I reap Gave into a man who was a long dead worst enemy Realizing it was a scheme, I began to weep Death soak shudder, my lungs gasping just to breathe Trapped in a cage of a divorced ironic blasphemy So I snapped the joints of my legs and hit my knees Unto God I cried my constant need of a sinners plea I heard go and sin no more, it's not a democracy Battle shock fear that caused despair of hades deep I realized I'm carnalized by a brute savage beast I beat my chest head down and cried out mercy me And saw a man with a scarred hand pray my soul to keep
And he said to me...
Come and drink of that FOUNT of mercy That FOUNT of life That FOUNT bled for me That FOUNT of light...
Just go and drink of that FOUNT!!! Just go and drink of that FOUNT!!! I need more of that FOUNT!!! GIVE ME MORE OF THAT FOUNT!!!
So I drank from the blood to good tastin' to be true Zip lipped up no more, accountable to my excuse Held my head high cause in Christ I can't be moved Oil on my head poured blessed, confessed not to lose Curbstomped the devil's head with black combat boots I'm a soldier with a cross to bear and share good news I'm sent to the steets of a world I'm not belonging to Joined an army of hardcore radicals looking for new recruits We preach the untouchable gang Lord who as family bled for you We bleed the same way in a harvest of workers few Our light shredding darkness of your soul so you can see the truth You wanna end your life of sin and begin anew? In behalf of our task to proclaim for the blessed few
Here's what you do...
So if you want a drink of that pure blood h2O Living water of the Christ King of Mercy Throne Wired and Tired of a past needin letting go Run to the nearest safe exit fast, and watch it flow
Drink and let it flow...
And Don't Let it Go
Come and drink of that FOUNT of mercy That FOUNT of life That FOUNT bled for me That FOUNT of light...
Just go and drink of that FOUNT!!! Just go and drink of that FOUNT!!! I need more of that FOUNT!!! GIVE ME MORE OF THAT FOUNT!!!

"It was no joke when your engine broke and the monsters came a-brawling." - Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band This, again. It is expressed in such a beautiful way in the song, 'Black Waters Blowed / Engine Broke Blues'. Also a pretty good expression of how I felt abandoned by friends/family when my depression started

Not metal (alternative rock), but an awesome song with very poetic and moving lyrics about how God's grace has made us holy in Christ despite our opinions of ourselves and our faults...
The Waiting - "Look At Me"
Golden bars of sunlight come sneaking through the shutters Laying stripes on my back like a zebra Sweaty fingers turning pages, and clinging to the bed Like it's a bride and I never want to leave her Paul calls me a saint and the mattress shakes with laughter And the sheets let out a chuckle while the pillow holds one end I don't believe a word I read, but the man is so convincing Says You're calling me a winner of a game I never win But with every word I read I feel Your eyes upon me And I don't mind at all
I love the way You look at me, the way You steer Your eyes To see the bride beneath the harlot's skin, the virtue underneath the sin I love the way You look at me, when You lift the veil and You repeat Your vow
Get up for the shower, wash, and scrub and scour every part As if a cleaner man could better bear the shame Now, I move out into the sunlight, a frightened fool There's a reason for my fright, for I'm a messenger who's forgetting why he came But with every step I take I feel Your eyes are on me, And I don't mind at all
I love the way You look at me, the way You steer Your eyes To see the bride beneath the harlot's skin, the virtue underneath the sin I love the way You look at me, when You lift the veil and You repeat Your vow
For when You look at me, You see every drop of blood You spent Like the color that comes creeping to my face It is such sweet embarrassment to see the dowry that You paid for my cold embrace But I'll never let you go because...
I love the way You look at me, the way You steer Your eyes To see the bride beneath the harlot's skin, the virtue underneath the sin I love the way You look at me, when You lift the veil and You repeat Your vow

(English) You seek in the night a darkness as a source for peace of mind maybe as if the night was an end destination in itself and the darkness a path to the peace of day which in fact is what it really is, but even I like the night, I just don't believe that heaven is flat, or that a fragmentary theological truth is heaven in itself
It is not the surface, but the yearning which is there put down in the heart as a seed to the salvation of the soul

Is it conceited to say I really like my own lyrics sometimes?
- "A barrage of bullets to the heart of blasphemy"
- "Evil, consume nothing. / Darkness, crush darkness; fold in upon yourself. / Demons, raise up your war banner of surrender. / In the name of Jesus Christ, / Amen."

These are the lyrics from my favorite Quiet Waters song, Lighthouse:
"Although this body grows weary You never let me fall And though these oceans surge beneath me These waves do me no harm
I face this storm from a lighthouse What now shall I fear?
Your mercy dove into the deep These shadows held me tight The grasp of Your love unwavering Pulls me into the light
I face this storm from a lighthouse What now shall I fear? The earth may shake and the skies my fall But I know You're near"

Lately I've been listening a lot to K-rino, in this song he's introducing himself to a school class as a new professor and basically describing what the they're about to learn.
"My classroom is an abnormal regime Homework is rubbed into your forehead in the form of a cream And no matter what you do, don't ever touch this bright folder If you miss one day of class, I'll start your whole life over" - K-rino - New professor
