What are your favorite lyrics? Why? Etc. Lines or songs welcome: whatever you jive with. Some of mine (many of which I like given their context and expression in the song):
"When the world is sick, can't no one be well, but I dreamt we was all beautiful and strong." - Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band
"Sorrow ever awaits on joy and has rendered me to pieces." - Virgin Black
"Save me from my room. Save my from my thoughts." - Iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalisminyouryearbook
"I speak as if you were listening." - Kite Flying Society
"I've seen the future ... and you die." - Frost Like Ashes
"Broken battered bruised and bloody, take My hand child this is not your end." - In The Midst Of Lions
Not the original source of the unknown/disputed quote, but the first I heard it: "Evil prevails when good men choose to do nothing." - Earth From Above
"My body's the infested, the disease; rip me out of me and dwell in me O God. ... I can see Your blood on the floor taking my punishment." - Impending Doom
"Had to relinquish the power / squeamish, fiendish and sour / went from those who snorted powder / to bangin that David Crowder" - Eshon Burgundy
"You say you hard / I suggest you stop / I'm guessin it must be Legos if you on the block." - Derek Minor
"Sometimes you have to take chances; sometimes you have to face failures." - This Is The Giant
"It was no joke when your engine broke and the monsters came a-brawling." - Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band
"Buildings seem to rise like coffins full of stars getting buried in the sky." - Thursday
"Gather me, for I am scattered. Speak comfort to me. Gather me, share my sorrow." - Virgin Black
"It's hard to smile with all this pain in me / gotta let Jesus be the King and let Him reign in me." - Beleaf
"I change my mind so much I can't even trust it. My mind changes me so much, I can't even trust myself." - Modest Mouse
"How's your bell curve? Mine's right-skewed average low, very low." - I Hate Myself
"And when it's my time to go, go ahead and take me home. I know I'll be with You, I know I'll be with You." - Beautiful Eulogy
"Can you see me in this hell? trapped inside and trying to escape. the voices never stop. you worthless piece of trash. my wailing pleads of sorrow fuel my hate for weakness. the bitterness never ends. I lay here on my back behind my fickle shield of strength. i am broken. will you help me. what is this that I have become. so far removed from what God made me to be. why do I have to live in so much pain. I try to do good since I was a child. but this internal enemy. monster inside. it kills me. molests me every night. what good is a wretch like me. broken and made cold. oh God just let me die." - Broken Flesh

There are a lot. For now, I'll only post some. _____________________________________
I feel the warmth of your embrace / You lift me up as I cry out your name. - Antivenom
The Lord is your shepherd, why do you worry? Kneel down before Him. You need His love again! - HB
If you're frozen inside, cannot praise or love / He wants you to be you, no need to earn His love 'cause / Every moment He says: "I love you, I care / This road I made just for you / to be together now and forever" - HB
I turned to Christ... He gave me the sense of life / I would had died in suicide with the sadness inside / He sets me free from the sorrow in mind, and my heart - Nocturnal Freeze
I praise the Lord... Alone in the dark, I walked through the night / But my Lord heard my cries in the shades of my painful dark paths - Nocturnal Freeze, same song
Destroy the blasphemous gate of malediction / March on the ashes of the black empire / Destroy the infamous rites of desolation / March on the ashes of the black empire! - Nephesh
Slowly crazy / These angry thoughts / I see myself, I’m so fallen / Like a canvas unbound... / On the opposite side now, / The darkness fills you up / On this day today, today, today, / Do you seek repentance / Repentance? - Audio Paradox
It's time to choose my side, live as I am / Taking tiny steps in the wrong and / Saying what I know I have said before / "I'll turn back, just not today" / The other option, deep from my heart I can find You / Where I left You, God of my childhood / Jesus still has hope for the hopeless / He can make me fearless and free / Amen! - HB
Die Rettung ruht nun auf den Schwingen des Schicksals / Werden wir die Türe finden ... die uns wieder zu unserer verlorenen Unschuld führt? ("The rescue rests now on the wings of destiny / Will we find the door ... that leads us again to our lost innocence?") - Opus Majestic
сатана прислал своих слуг / Чтобы разрушить мой храм / Но они разбежались, как жалкие трусы / От имени Христа! ("satan sent his servants / to destroy my temple / but they fled as pathetic cowards / in the name of Christ!") - Dying Blaze
you will not destroy me again / your vanity will not pervert me / The light of the Savior will fulfill my emptiness / And I will be eternally free from this enchantment - Hazeroth
There is only One Way. / There is only One Truth. / There is only One Hand that can save you. / Jesus Christ loves you. / Jesus Christ wants you to live. / Jesus Christ wants to save you from the fire. / Believe... Believe... Believe... - Elgibbor
We are just little creatures made by God / Created to serve and exalt the Lord / The original sin was ended on the cross / By the sacrifice of Lord's son, Jesus Christ... - Nocturnal Freeze
Standing in defiance, I feel my strength return. My war cry cuts through the frosty air. Souls of once fallen warriors are rising. Upon the hills I see legions marching on under inspired command against the evil throne. Moonshine reflects on swords. Starlit shields glisten throughout the darkness. The enemy's blood will fall to the ground. The sound of war will break the silence. - Wintersoul

This is more like lyrical quotes, but I'll bite. I think I pray this every single day, and obviously, it's tailored personally to me.

NI, I'm really feeling the Nocturnal Freeze, Hazeroth (so much so that I'm now listening to that album (I've never listened to Hazeroth before)), and Wintersoul ones. Thomas, the third stanza in what you've posted stands out as particularly awesome to me.

You would probably like the lyrics on War EP. Honestly the music sucks lol, I did it all in one take, but you might like it. I always really liked "A barrage of bullets / To the heart of blasphemy..."

I could probably pull a lot of really angsty lines from various hardcore songs, but you guys would probably rather not read that.

"Therefore, we must remember where we first came from. We must repent and do that which we did at the beginning, for now my soul is like a valley of dry bones... Parched and desolate, so I beseech, billow down Elohim, Rain down into this dry valley and breathe life into these bones..."

One of my favorites...
"She awoke from a fable to mourning church bells wringing Her madly from sleep Tolled by a priest, self castrated and hung like a crimson bat 'neath the belfry The biblical prattled their mantras Hexes six-tripled their fees But Elizabeth laughed, thirteen autumns had passed and she was a widow from God and His wrath, finally..."

In honor of National Straight Edge Day:
"Deliberately put your head in a mindless state Say without the crutch you can’t relate Intoxicated you do stupid things Things you don’t mean things you wished could be changed Drink it down say it’s for the best Bottle in the hand just like all the rest Still you do it when you know it’s wrong But it’s what’s accepted so you feel strong"

I don't really listen the band anymore but strangely enough this lyric has kept roaming my mind for years now.
"In claws of bitterness, I enthrone in the North." including the vocals which 'sing' it.
Edit: I think I haven't listened the band in five to six years.

This line has been sticking out to me lately and I don't know why. I don't know what it means either.
"We knew there would be no future; that was our greatest freedom."
-Ampere, "Past Imperfect"

For Dark Funeral being such an "evil" band, they have some lyrics that are pretty neutral, cool and descriptive. From The Eternal Eclipse off their newest:
"And since the day I left the burning field of the abyss I've been alone and wandering through the world in darkness I've never thought of turning back and every step I take is leading me towards my final breath of air I was alive to see the world erupt in flames and brimstone as the judgement day swept clean all the lands Humanity was doomed to die and the remnants that were left, they would forever hide in shame"

Tomorrow I'm gonna need to devote some time into my answers. It's a mixture of my own lyrics and lyrics by other bands. Some real personal stuff and then some stuff that is just well put together

Okay so my fav song lyrics Guardian - Never Say GoodbyeThis is the song that established my relationship with my dad after a traumatic experience that caused me to get kicked out of China and my dad and I went backpacking to Singapore to figure things out and instead of going to a s'pore church, we just talked and I opened up my heart and who I was with my dad and established a connection for intimacy with him. This is the song that did it because I explained to him how the song had already an emotional connection and then he and I read the bible verses connected to the lyrics and had a bible study that to me marked a new relationship with my dad. Emery - I Never Got to See the West CoastThis song really expresses how I feel about life. I can relate to every line except (ironically) the title. A Hill to Die Upon - Adept of DivinityThis song is more intellectual and Michael really inspired me to be more conceptual with my lyrical writing however I haven't written in this style in a while and I'm dying to write some again. Showbread - Man with a HammerI really appreciate how Josh Dies breaks down the Gospel with this song. It's some cool stuff that really isn't talked about in the Christian scene. And now my own lyrics "Who is worthy to read the scroll only the one who saved your soul the lamb was slain to fill your shell Only He can save you from hell He sacrificed his life to offer you salvation He redeemed your soul and sanctified your life His body suffered and died of asphyxiation will you follow him or choose to live in strife He had His torso pierced and endured mutilation and he walked to where he would find death do not turn away and writhe in condemnation He'll love you even after your last breath Slaughtered lamb Resurrected to make us whole again" brownie points to anyone who actually know what song this was used for. I wrote the lyrics for this song and performed the chorus along with my buddy Lance back when my vocals sucked and had to pitchshift them. This was the first "christian" song I wrote that was about Jesus and has a special place in my heart.

To Thomas: I need to check, however the song is shrouded in mystery and I will not reveal the title of the song nor the album it was on though it's pretty obvious if you know my discography. You just need to do some simple research really!
And yeah I love that showbread song. And really just that whole album. It was a unique album and my favorite as well

I've been listening to a band called Pianos Become The Teeth a bunch lately. The below lyrics are from a song called Liquid Courage; their simplicity and perspicacity is haunting; the song is put together really well ((I don't understand the thirty seconds of solely simple drumming in the beginning, but I am confident they had their reasons)).
On the day you died, I cut my hair for the funeral, and on memorial day, I started drinking because it got kind of hard just sitting there thinking about mom all alone in that house, and I'm too far away to do our lunch dates, she misses the regimen she misses the annoyances, the free time is bittersweet.

I thought this verse from Aesop Rock about a psychotherapist session was really cool, especially the bolded bit.
She says, "I'm not your enemy" I said, "That sounds like something that my enemy would say" Instead of playing off the chemistry she said, "You're being difficult" I said, "I'm being guarded. You're a quarter mil in debt, I get more guidance from my barber Look, I'm not good at this, I grew up in a noogie fest You built your walls up high or say goodbye to all your Cookie Puss Here's one, every time my telephone buzzes I see images of hooded riders setting fire to hundreds." She said, "When you start getting all expressive and symbolic, it's impossible to actualize an honest diagnostic." I said, "When you start getting all exact and algebraic, I'm reminded it's a racket, not a rehabilitation, okay? Agree to disagree as grown-ups from opposing clans Honoring the push and pull I should have called the Scholomance Oh well. Preservation is a doozy "Will you be needing another appointment?" "Absolutely" I'm shrunk

"My body's the infested, the disease; rip me out of me and dwell in me O God. ... I can see Your blood on the floor taking my punishment." - Impending Doom (Is it cool to quote yourself? Probably not.) The lyrics for this entire song, Feeding The Decomposing, I like. They're pretty spot on.

The lyrics for In Flames "Come Clarity" have always spoken to me on a deeply personal level....
Rushing, through thirty Getting older, every day My soul drawing pictures Of innocent times Can you add, color, inside these lines
I want you to lead me Take me somewhere Don't want to live in a dream one more day
I want you to lead me Take me somewhere Don't want to live in a dream one more day
Sure, if we change our perspective I'm certain I will change today I'm certain it will change our ways When things fall into place
I want you to lead me Take me somewhere Don't want to live in a dream one more day
Take me somewhere Don't want to live in a dream one more day
