Ok this thread will likely show HOW musically diverse some here may truly be or......... maybe how diverse they may not be. Here is what I recently picked up on vinyl
The Statler Brothers - Pardners In Rhyme The Fabulous Johnny Cash
The latter is a re pressed vinyl issue of his 1959 Album. It was STILL sealed this repress was done in 2014
The Statler Brothers vinyl cost me ONLY .50 cents and it is in Near Mint condition. I spent $15 total on both combined. The Johnny Cash one came with a digital download of the album as well.

Nice choices on the My Silent Wake! They're my favorite band next to Maiden of course. I've never been a big ambient fan, but Eye Of The Needle is really quite good. And PRR is just fantastic. My Sorrow Is Yours is just amazing.

My Sorrow Is Yours is just amazing. Yeah, when I first heard PRR I was surprised how much I liked it. I mean, that was two years ago, so I'm a little late in buying the vinyl, but I'm glad I did. Eye of the Needle is awesome too. I like that they did ambient variations on tracks they've already done, like Rebirth and Hunting Season.

Chain of Strength - The One Thing That Still Holds True
As I started digging through sXe (and particularly the youth crew scene) a little more, I discovered this awesome band. Have a listen:

I'm working on getting the Starflyer 59 albums that I don't already own. Some I used to own but many of my CD's from my teens and early 20's got lost at some point or another. So let's see...
the good thing is: used copies are pretty cheap.
This past week I ordered: Americana (used to own this one; one of the few transitional albums that is also one of the best, a work of beauty and of art..), Le Vainqueur EP (used to own this one too), The Fashion Focus (heard some of this one and "I Drive A Lot" is a fantastic standout track and alone is worth the price of admission), and I Am the Portuguese Blues (haven't heard much of this one but it's supposed to be a tad bluesy and back to SF59's spacey/noisy roots so I'm very stoked).
The next ones I plan to get are Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice and Leave Here A Stranger which are both supposed to be some of the best and I have never heard them! I'm avoiding YouTube... I want to experience them as a whole in good quality headphones.
I already had a few I didn't mention and there are still even a few more that I don't have. What a massive catalog. I have no idea how Jason Martin manages to be a full time truck driver based out of California and still manage to make a full length release nearly every year for two decades. And I've never heard bad music from the dude either. One of the few in Christian alternative rock that I'd call a true genius who bleeds melody. Yeah, I'm a fan.

xSidetrackedx - Every Inch of the Way Forthwright - My Soul Secure Ten 33 - Emergency! Emergency! Ten 33 - Nightmare on Grace Street
The first two on the list are both Christian straight edge hardcore bands (I think xSidetrackedx is no longer a Christian band though, but I know that at least their first album (the one I bought) was). They're also both rare instances in which I buy an album without having heard any of the audio from it. I've seen a few people on various websites say that they really liked xSidetrackedx so it seemed like a safe enough purchase to me, and I've heard Forthwright described as more melodic than most hardcore bands, so that sounded cool too.
Ten 33 is also a Christian hardcore band, but I don't know if they're straight edge. I absolutely love their sound.

Nils Frahm's album Solo (it's like solo/slow/pensive piano ... maaaybe neoclassical?)
Dream Junkies' album Good Religion (Christian rap ... if you have infants/toddlers, consider checking out the song "Diaper Bag")
Esmerine's album Dalmak (turkish-influence postrock/orchestral? I'm very unsure of a genre here; I really like their tune "Translator's Clos II")
Hiss Tracts' album Shortwave Nights (ambient/drone/noise?)
Sevin's album Purple Heart (realest Christian rap I've ever heard)

I'm very excited about the new SF59! I haven't listened to My Epic as much as I should, but I will say that "Lower Still" is an amazing song.

Lower Still is indeed an very amazing song. The emotion is so strong... He sings as if he was there with Jesus. Really well done. Although. I like their last album Behold better. Great atmosphere and songwriting and lyrics and all.
I'm very excited about the new SF59 too. Can't wait till I'm driving with that disc on.

Balmorhea - All Is Wild, All Is Silent (Excellent postrock/acoustic group ... check out the tune "Settler" -- it's worth six of your minutes, if I may be so bold!)
Trip Lee - The Good Life (Eh. The CD was ridiculously cheap...)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Slow Riot For Zero Kanada (Beautiful ambient/postrock/theyretheirowngenre/hopelessness/hope ... I might ask yall to listen to one of their tunes on a new thread -- it'd be sweet to hear your thoughts.)

Arvo Pärt - Serenity: The Beauty of Arvo Pärt (20th century classical music with quite a Gregorian chant influence) That's a really nice selection on those disks! I might have to pick that one up because it has an arrangement of Spiegel im Spiegel that I don't have and looks interesting. I was able to hear a live performance of his music in May; one of the highlights of my life thus far!

A rap album earlier in the year by Social Club Misfits. A good amount of neoclassical/ambient/experimental albums from Erased Tapes (Nils Frahm, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Masayoshi Fujita, Ólafur Arnalds) and a few from Constellation Records (Jason Sharp, Esmerine, Vic Chesnutt). Of these, I might recommend you check out Vic Chesnutt's song " I've Flirted With You All My Life" or "Coward" -- he's a great folk singer/songwriter. I might also recommend Nil Frahm -- "Ode" and " More" are great; this dude loves pianos and he's a thoughtful musician; here is a brief and fairly interesting note ( source) about his album 'Felt' that I recently purchased: Recorded late at night in the reflective solitude and silence of his studio in Berlin, Frahm uncovers a new sound and source of inspiration within these peaceful moments: "Originally I wanted to do my neighbours a favour by damping the sound of my piano. If I want to play piano during the quiet of the night, the only respectful way is by layering thick felt in front of the strings and using very gentle fingers. It was then that I discovered that my piano sounds beautiful with the damper." Captivated by this sonic exposition, he placed the microphones so deep inside the piano that they were almost touching the strings. This brought a host of external sounds to the recordings which most producers would try their hardest to hide: "I hear myself breathing and panting, the scraping sound of the piano's action and the creaking of my wooden floorboards – all equally as loud as the music. The music becomes a contingency, a chance, an accident within all this rustling. My heart opens and I wonder what exactly it is that makes me feel so happy."

Also how do I do that spoiler thing so I can hide the text in case the reader doesn't care to see it? Type it out like this:
This is the text inside of the spoiler.
And then it looks like this: This is the text inside of the spoiler.
