Any fans here? After YEARS of having been disbanded, Norwegian avant-garde metallers In The Woods... are back with a new album (and new singer)! And from what I've heard... it's sounding really great. Their sound has not remained the same for any album, but they've gone from pagan/black metal, avant-garde metal, progressive rock, and now progressive dark metal (or something along those lines...) and no matter what it is, they do a stellar job at it. Check out some stuff from their upcoming album, Pure:

Hmm, I'm surprised there aren't any fans here. They released some pretty quality stuff over the years...

Not my favorite band. Not at all, but they are kind of legendary here in Norway. It is cool that they have som new stuff coming out. Actually they are playing live in my hometown in a couple of weeks, so maybe I will attend the gig =)

Oh nice! I am jealous. I used to LOVE them but my tastes have since shifted some. I still greatly enjoy their music and am excited to hear their new album. If you go to the show, let me know how it was! I remember when their Facebook or Myspace or whatever account was created, instead of the "..." at the end in the url (since you can't have that), it was "666". They made a post explaining that they're not into that but someone not in the band had created the page for them. I appreciated that they clarified, because most metal bands wouldn't I don't think.

I finally got the CD in the mail and onto my iPod. I'm only a few songs in, but so far I am really liking it.

Triple post! I was listening to ITW's album Omnio this morning to work and I had forgot what a great album it is! The opening track is spectacular:
