I applaud you guys for having a more diverse music pallet than my own. Reggae isn't something I wouldn't even consider putting in my regular listening rotation.

I applaud you guys for having a more diverse music pallet than my own. Reggae isn't something I wouldn't even consider putting in my regular listening rotation. I've found that it's difficult for me to enjoy a genre unless the guitar is one of the prominent instruments. I think the only exceptions to that would be some classical music, the darker forms of ambient, and a little bit of EDM every now and then.

It's hard for me to enjoy music that sounds so darn happy. It just makes me feel like I'm at a circus or a birthday party or something.

I can appreciate the talent, but it just doesn't move me like a dark sound does.

May I post some songs on here? ( I didn't know Damian Marley is a christian? Welcome to Jam Rock is a good track) Damian Marley is Rasta, along with the other artists videos i understand. Rasta's also believe in Christ and the bible though, so i try and only post songs that are Christian friendly. Here's a few new music video's from Christian Reggae artists... @thomas ...it may seem like all reggae is happy clappy stuff but a great deal of is quite somber dealing with serious issues of third world poverty, politics, justice, righteousness etc and a great deal of it can be very millitant also. The happy sounding stuff is like a cellebration of what is good. I'm not much a fan of the poppy digital kind of reggae and go for the old school styles of the 1970's and 80's with the real players of instruments, some keep the flame burning. To me i find reggae is perfect music for building myself up in The Lord with the psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. A song like this one for example has a somber tone, unless it sounds happy to you haha... @ CrimsonWarrior ... yeah reggae is really built around the drums and bass and vocals primarily, theres some great guitar playing here and there, but its really about the feeling and vibes plus saying something meaningfull.

I listen to roots reggae & dub probably just as much as I listen to metal - weird, I know. Here's a tune from one of my favorite albums of last year: Solomon Jabby - Born Again

Yes Solomon Jabby's latest album is great, love the Sons Of Yeshua's vocals featured on that track. Post some more of your favorites, very interested in seeing what your digging.

Cool, Michael Rose is a legend. Love his voice and work in Black Uhuru. I have his Warrior Dub album.
This track he's featured on is pretty wicked...
Heres a new one by Max Romeo feat. Lee Scratch Perry, cool old skool vibe and neat stop motion animation...

Started listening to "Who Paid Them Off"..at first I was like "what kind of crap is this?" and then I realized I accidentally also opened it in another tab..so, after closing the 2nd...I like it very much haha
Also, love the idea for a thread, I´m not huge on reggae except a few Marley & Seeed songs, so, looking forrward to find some great songs ^__^

I didn't know Samory I had a new album, will go check it out.
This track of his about prayer is very cool...
Those NY bands you posted are tight and authentic, great they have full horn sections. I came across this Christian reggae artist from New York, this track is a real goodie...
Also liking Iba Mahr...
