Lately I've been swapping out the CD's in my car and listening to new stuff. I had created a couple mixtapes that I would play over and over and over again, but that got boring, so I decided to start listening to albums while I drive. What music do you listen to while you drive? Albums that I've had fun driving to include: August Burns Red - Leveler Circle of Dust - Circle of Dust (Remastered) Hguols - Depiction Under the Obscure Seclusion Slechtvalk - Falconry Spoken - Breathe Again (some really good rock; the sound quality on the video that I linked is worse than the actual album)

I don't really have driving and non-driving music. The car stereo is one of the most common places for me to study music though.

I've been listening to Hguols - Depiction Under the Obscure Seclusion lately and I think it is a good driving album. Today I listened to Circle of Dust's self-titled in anticipation of Machines of Our Disgrace, which I recently pre-ordered.

Totally depends where I'm driving, what time of day/night it is, who - if anyone - is driving with me, how much traffic there is, the weather, etc.

If it is just driving around town I'll pull up whatever I happen to be in the mood for. Sometimes I'll even just pop on a Pandora station or hit shuffle.
Long family trips I'm pretty much at the mercy of my wife and kids who do not share my musical tastes.
Long solo trips I pick albums I want to really immerse myself in. I capture my thoughts in a digital recorder as I listen. On a trip to Bloomington last spring I essentially wrote two reviews that way. I did another two on a different trip to Indianapolis.
Then there was the time I caught myself crossing down from above 90 listening to the latest Elgibbor.

Long family trips I'm pretty much at the mercy of my wife and kids who do not share my musical tastes. This is my experience exactly. My boys like to listen to "metal" when they are with just me, but on family trips it's my wife's call. Sometimes we can do some audiobooks or podcasts, but that's the exception to the rule.

I gave a CD to my boss at the time, he said he had to take it out of his vehicle because if he listened to it, it made him hit the gas. LOL
