So, lately when I've gotten bored at work, I've been scouting the moon and mars... looking for unusual stuff - typical finding "signs of life" type things...
Just found something on Mars that has me !?!??!???!?????¿¿¿
Copy and paste this in your browser to see:
https://www.google.com/maps/space/mars/@-4.5702642,137.391509,915a,35y,40.24t/data=!3m1!1e3
I'm either thinking one of the following - their "Google Mars" isn't really Mars - secret space thing and people are there building things (despite no record of people being on Mars yet?) - freakin' aliens man
Feedback? What the heck...

So ok - the first post flopped because it was a deliberate joke by Google.
...but, I can't find any info on these spots on Mars. (just copy and paste the coordinates in your browser if you want to see)
https://www.google.com/maps/space/mars/@-4.2799796,137.4474698,901m/data=!3m1!1e3 https://www.google.com/maps/space/mars/@-4.296365,137.5156433,907m/data=!3m1!1e3 https://www.google.com/maps/space/mars/@-4.6926389,137.5163568,427m/data=!3m1!1e3 https://www.google.com/maps/space/mars/@-4.4675345,137.5324429,441m/data=!3m1!1e3
My question is: Why take a very HIGH QUALITY picture of the MARS surface just to place a LOW QUALITY black square over it?
If this isn't some sort of a "structure coverup" censoring of the picture, is it a camera fail? I can't think of any other reasons that those black squares would be there...

My guess is that the black squares are hiding something, although it's odd how long and skinny the last two on your list are.

In the case of the last two, I'd say [assume] they're glitches. If you look at the sides of the rectangles, there are very long, but very thin lines that, if you look at the scale, would only be about one yard/meter in width. Also, all of the thin rectangular ones are almost, if not exactly the same length, leading me to think again that they're just glitches. Now what's odd, though, is that their width is slightly different, and the larger boxes you linked aren't the same size. A quick Google search presents the possible explanation that these are the result of data that hasn't reached Earth yet / didn't get here because of technical problems. I'm more inclined to think that it is glitches honestly. But I'm also not saying the government isn't hiding things from us. Not that I want to inspire paranoia, but we have so many artists who can make realistic paintings/drawings, use Photoshop, etc - if the government wanted to hide things from us, I'd think they would just edit the maps to look like nothing was there. Not just black the areas out with a square.

Yeah, black squares aren't much to go on. I'd much rather scour every inch for something I can actually SEE vs. seeing a black box and assume not-assume aliens/coverup/whatever.
Anyway, what the heck are these things?

They remind me of black tree roots or something. Feel free to look around that "closeup square" - there's hundreds of them. Some of them are obviously flat against the dunes, some (after rotating multiple time) actually look to be sticking out of the ground.
One of the kickers of looking for life on MARS is that its probably going to look vastly different than anything on earth to live in that environment. For all we know, we could be looking right at it and not even recognize it as alive.

Those are weird. Not sure what they'd be. I notice they only seem to be in areas where it looks very "sandy" - if you look at the bottom right corner of the rectangle, it looks rockier, and those (things?) aren't there.
But then again, for all I know, that entire surface could be sand, or entirely rock.
