Any fans here? Dispirit features John Gossard of Weakling, The Gault, and Asunder. Also their drummer used to play for Deafheaven. I'd categorize Dispirit as black/doom metal. I've had the good fortune of seeing them play twice so far and they are mighty good. They have two demo tapes which are both definitely worth owning and have just been re-released on Bandcamp: dispirit.bandcamp.com/Their first demo tape is remastered and the second one is a completely different take but the same songs. I'll be purchasing these digital versions soon...

I bought the Bandcamp digital versions yesterday. I only had time to listen to one song but it sounds great! No other fans here?

The music is good. I like that there's doom sections, and then "faster" black metal sections. Vocals are better than Weakling's!
LOVE the artwork.

Yeah, the vocals are definitely much more "traditional" than Weakling. I have grown to really like the vocals on Dead As Dreams though. They're so unnerving and gnarly which makes for a mighty disturbing (in a good way) listening experience.
Dispirit definitely has a good sound to them. I haven't listened to their new one yet but I've probably heard at least one of those songs in concert. I too enjoy how they meld black with doom; they do a good job of it!
