How are you feeling about it? Quite relaxed, I already checked out a place sadly didn´t get it, but I´m positive (strangly for me lol) I try to keep calm because I know God will take care of it and I also have ma parents who are there for me so I´m pretty chill

What's the situation with asking God for blessings? Never really got the whole Jacob wrestled with the angel business I'm not really sure what you're asking here.

Anyone have a tried and true way to convert voice memo iPhone files to mp3? You could try this. Actually, I have a question too: How do you even export those voice memo files in the first place?

Only a semi-serious question, but definitely a random one at that. Any of you guys ever wonder what a vampire walrus would look like?

I mean, it's technically a no, but I can't say I'm not now curious.

I haven't, but now I am. Would the tusks just be a bit bigger? Would they have separate fangs? ....... Would they transform into bats, or would they already have bat wings? Would the wings accommodate their weight, or would they just have tiny little bat wings?

Google has some interesting concept art of vampire walruses. Looks like I did not have an original question. :B

I'm curious how many of you go to a church regularly and if so, are you a member? I've been going to a church for a few years but have struggled with making connections with anyone there other than the pastor. He announced today he is leaving to pastor another church out of state. I have been thinking of checking out other churches lately and this kind of sealed the deal. if you do attend church, what do you like about it that keeps you there? What don't you like?

I belong to a church. I would go regularly if I could (long story). I used to go regularly. I like our pastor. But I just like the ... spiritual nourishment, I guess you could say. In church [my church anyway] the focus is solely on God and His word, and I need that. My mind is a constant whirlwind and I need that time of quiet focus on God.
I'm not a very social person, so while people at church know who I am and know a bit about me, I mostly just make small talk. But we're all still part of the same "family", as it were. You don't really "need" to make connections with people to get along with them.

This is going to be a long post. Hopefully it is not overwhelming. Hehe. I grow up in Conservative Evangelical Christian home. My parents and my brother are from Mexico, they come to the USA, make a living, and settle. My parents grew up going to churches, so they make me and my siblings (including my sisters) to go to churches. They weren’t great, but decent. It took me a long time to understand who God is because I was into my own little world. Watching tv shows/movies, playing video games, drawing, playing outside being imaginative, and creating scenarios that don’t exist. I don’t attend church regularly. I visit my friends’ church once a month. I do want to help churches out. Not volunteering or outreaching, but educate them that not all Metalheads or anyone in the music scene are evil. They need love. I will pray to God to give me wisdom and strength to do so. 🙂

have struggled with making connections with anyone there other than the pastor. This is me. what do you like about it that keeps you there? What don't you like? What I like is a linear lesson where I can learn (or re-learn what I forgot) something... not scripture whiplash from a Frankenstein'ed message. What I don't like.... personalities before principles. I promise you, I'm not the type of person to seek out defects of character and shortcomings of others.... but once I trip over them and keep tripping over them, I need to distance myself. Prior examples.... getting singled out. Years ago when I had long hair, wore spikes and chains everywhere, etc. during a sermon, a preacher said "look at this guy" points to me, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the whole church looks, insinuates how "evil" I look, BUT he loves me since he's a Christian and blah blah blah I never went back after that. LOL Another example.... story topping. Like its a bible study setting and all the lesson leader can do is "Oh yeah, well...." and tell a better story/moral/example to anything anyone says. Final example.... distractions? I left the church I was going to - because the assistant pastor has a kid with behavioral/learning issues. While I NOW understand that's not his fault, one Bible study where the kid was there, he was all but flogging the decor on the stage behind the assist pastor while we were trying to have the lesson. They said nothing. They did nothing. How some of these churches "worship" is very distracting. Hey, if people get it, that's awesome... I'm not saying it doesn't work, but it doesn't work for me. If the church songs are presented like a ticketed concert, the hymns are new and seem like a pop track with an added JPM, and the people on stage are making faces like they're stuck in perpetual orgasm while leading the song.... ...all of that, takes me a lot farther from actual worship than I want to be.

Anyone ever listen to Thyne Scabbard? I think they were the first metal band that was not completely 'core' whose album I bought and I have never heard anyone mention them.

I have two of their songs - is their music available anywhere? I haven't looked. I bought it on iTunes in 2011. The two songs I've listened to the most is 'A Demon Bloodbath' and 'The Decapitation of Fallen Angels', though the song that popped into my mind that made me think of them is 'Lies, Lust, and Redemption'. (((It's possible that I had previously considered them black metal-y before I knew what black metal was shhhh it's 0% black metal don't worry about that.)))

What happened to Starve The Flesh clothing?

Post by nocturnaliridescence on Apr 17, 2018 20:30:01 GMT -6
Jeremy stopped doing shirts a couple years ago. I don't really remember the reason he gave though.
Starve the Flesh also used to have a net label where they released stuff digitally (a lot of Dying Blaze's side projects were released on it), but that disappeared after they merged with Nokternal Hemizphear.

Jeremy stopped doing shirts a couple years ago. I don't really remember the reason he gave though. I seem to remember something that his method of printing shirts malfunctioned. Hardware issue type thing.... ...which, again if I'm not mistaken, he took donations on equipment to press shirts with, and its not working anymore, then.... thanks for the money? D:

Do you write down your goals? How intentional are you about defining goals and pursuing them?

Post by nocturnaliridescence on Apr 29, 2018 9:36:17 GMT -6
I don't write down goals. Always seemed silly to me, but then again, a LOT of people say it works, so maybe it's worth a shot
About "defining goals", though, I'm not sure what you mean.

One of the primary reasons for a sex offender registry is so the public KNOWS who is a sex offender. So..... why does Bill Cosby have to register as a sex offender? Isn't that redundant? I mean, anyone who knows who he is, and hasn't been under a rock the past few months now knows what he was convicted of, and that he is a sex offender...

How many hours of sleep do you need each night to function well mentally and physically the next day?
Edit: and by 'you' I mean 'you', since people's sleep needs are quite variable.

I wish I knew. It seems to vary a lot, and of course, I never know what the ideal number that night will be. Once in awhile I'll get like a perfect amount of sleep somehow.

Edit: and by 'you' I mean 'you', since people's sleep needs are quite variable. on average, I get 5-6 and manage ok. Less than 5 makes for a rough day. I might get to sleep in on a Saturday and get a full 7-8, but usually my body just wakes up after 6. Sometimes that kinda sucks...

I'd say I need 8 hours.
I can count on 1 hand the times I've slept 8 hours straight since mid 2016..... so I could probably manage with less sleep, but since its more or less in 2 hour increments.... 8 total hours it is.
6 total hours of sleep, I may be crashing by the following afternoon. 2 to 4 total hours of sleep, I feel like a pair of eyes floating around. Full on zombie that's too tired to even sleep, and those days are all but completely lost.

If I wanted to, I could use album artwork pics I found on MA and order stickers to be made, yeah? Copyright problems? Artist respect problems?

|

Post by Thomas Eversole on May 26, 2018 13:58:45 GMT -6
Copyright problems? Artist respect problems? Depends on the artist I'd think. The best approach would be to ask for their permission. For myself, if they agree not to sell what they make, its all good on whatever anyone makes for themselves. Just last month, I gave a dude in Canada and a dude in Australia, the high quality print download links I used to make shirts. I'm not going to pay the ridiculous international shipping cost any more than I would charge someone else for it. (despite a few saying they were willing to pay) ....so they can (pay to) make their own shirt locally, its just like the Orationem shirts I have made, and it will cost them less and cost me nothing.

If I wanted to, I could use album artwork pics I found on MA and order stickers to be made, yeah? Copyright problems? Artist respect problems? Another problem is that MA only allows 50 KB images. This tends to be a problem unless it's like, Drottnar's newest EPs where most of the artwork is one solid color, because otherwise you almost always have to sacrifice image resolution or quality to meet the filesize requirements. If you do end up going through with this I'd recommend searching on Google instead (or asking around if you want REALLY REALLY underground stuff) rather than MA.
