Dang dude that's quite a haul! Nice. Of those, I think I've only had the Samuel Smith (which was quite good). I look forward to hearing how these all are!

I did! I got to try a fair bit of good pivo during my visits to Slovakia. I don't remember all their names now... but I remember liking the Saris [sorry, I don't have diacritics on my keyboard and I'm too lazy to figure out how to insert them haha] tmave. In Kosice we went to this awesome place called The Red Nose with a great selection. We went to Golem Brewery (also in Kosice) which was pretty decent too. I asked Veronika if she remembered the names and apparently I've also had Bazant, Krusovice, and Smadny Mnich too. This weekend I was in Grocery Outlet (budget grocery store with great beer selection) and they had some gnarly stuff I had never seen before. Has anyone tried anything from Sierra Nevada's Trip In The Wood series? They're all barrel-aged (I forget the specifics) variations of beers currently in production but with a twist. Example, the Big Foot barley-wine style ale is infused with ginger, etc. They're like $16 each for a 750 ml bottle which is a bit too rich for my blood... but I'm very curious nonetheless.

Haha the red nose... I remember drinking there! Great that you liked our pivo. I had Šariš yesterday but not dark one just light 10. It was quite bitter. But I really like Krušovice, it is from czech...
I haven't tried lot of world known beer but just to say I really don't like Faxe or heineken. Even though I don't like Pilsner Urquell. I preger lighter and littlebit sweeter beer not so much hopsy

Oh fun! That's cool that you have been there too! Have you spent much time in Kosice? That's where my wife is from and where her parents live, so most of my time spend in Slovakia has been in Kosice. I haven't been too far from there besides the High Tatras and Spissky Hrad. Typically I prefer the darker and heavier beers, though I enjoy most types. (I don't care for wheat beers though.) Ah I forgot that Krusovice is Czech. They've got some good beers too though it seems mostly pilsners which aren't my favorite type. I don't like Heineken much either, though I have toured their factory.

Oh fun! That's cool that you have been there too! Have you spent much time in Kosice? I've been there twice just to see friends so I know a bit the center and that's it. Btw where do you live in America? 5 years ago I've been to the east coast just for few days to see New York, Washington DC, Baltimore and Ocean City

Cool. I live in California, Santa Cruz specifically. It's a very beautiful place though extremely expensive which is difficult. I've only been to the East Coast once some years ago. (I was bitter about going because I missed seeing Iron Maiden perform!) I wouldn't mind going back some day though. There is a lot there!

Currently drinking Dogfishhead Beer for Breakfast: A stout brewed with coffee, maple syrup and...scraple. and it's goddamn delicious. Burial has a Donut Skillet stout that I couldn't get enough of, and Hi-wire brewing had an imperial stout called 10W-40, which was delicious. This winter was great, as it tends to be stout season, but I'm sure glad it's about over, since my wallet needs a break.

I am an IPA man myself. The more hops the better! I just drank The Truth by Flying Dog that was glorious to say the least.

There is a Brewer Apprenticeship that I might take a shot at, Horticulture is my preference but the two aren't too different. I went to a science fair recently and they were showcasing some fine upcoming breweries within the next 5 years. Most are small business. They seem to have more condensed factories now and more home based environments to brew. Technology is in the works to make the production way easier too.
Brewing at home is also something in the works for me, seems really productive. Ill share examples of those when that happens.

The mythical Yeungling has gotten Indiana distribution as of Monday. To try, or not to try........that is the question.
Original Lager or Black & Tan.......that is the other question......

I drink Yuengling Light. Ran some through my Fizzics device (simulates tap beer at home). Pretty smooth that way.

Just turned 21 last month so now I finally get to buy my own beer! Woohoo! Enjoying an imperial Porter right with coffee and vanilla flavors. Pretty good stuff. Don't know why people prefer the light stuff!

Buuuuuump.....
Recently discovered a local store that has roughly 16 feetx4 shelves of single bottles. Decided to start trying random things.
Last week was:
Iron Maiden's Trooper. Fairly generic, truth be told. I can see it being a great "summer festival" beer, but I wasn't anything special,IMO. 5/10
Lagunitas Brown Shugga. Reminds me of Michelob Amber Bock, but more bitter with a definite taste of brown sugar to it. This is apparently difficult to brew, something about how the yeast and brown sugar interact, so it's essentially a season type deal. Relatively high ABV of 9%. Very enjoyable for me. 8/10
Lagunitas Sucks "Brown Shugga substitute". Very similar to the previous Brown Shugga, but you'd probably guess that from the name....lol! Most definitely does NOT suck! Slightly more sour, slightly more bitter. If I can't locate Brown Shugga, this is a perfectly suitable replacement. Slightly lower ABV, 8.5%. 8/10

after 11 years, I'm finally dabbling in IPAs a bit. Had double toasted marshmallow IPA from decadent ales and it was out of this world good.

also i know nothing about IPAs. Get involved. It sucks that they've become so trendy, but the way they highlight the hop varietals used opens the door to some really interesting flavors and brewing options.

archdukeofmetaldude. it's nice to hear from you. also i know nothing about IPAs. I poke around here and there! Spend most of my time working, working on pyrography, writing my book and trying to work on music. Tried a shit ton of IPAs since that post. Been drinking them on a semi regular basis

Tried a shit ton of IPAs since that post. Been drinking them on a semi regular basis I'd be interested on your thoughts about Dogfishead's IPA line-up (60, 90, 120, seasonals). I think it's dang near perfect. I have a couple 120 min IPAs chilling in the fridge now.

I'll definitely be grabbing some 120 if I come across it.
