Dude this sounds so awesome. I never thought post-black would work with unproduction, but...
There it is!

I agree entirely. One of my favorite parts is close to the end of I, when they start using very "wavy" and soaring riffs (for lack of a better word, lol) and the clean vocals come in. The little ambient transition into II is really nice as well, and I love the intro of II as well where they have the two guitars that alternate between two pitches and almost duel in a way; as one increases pitch, the other decreases, and one plays primarily out of the left speaker while the other plays out of the right. It creates a really awesome effect.
The band posted on their facebook that they plan on releasing an album next year. I'm excited for that.
I like their lyrics a lot as well. They use a lot of capitalized second-person pronouns (obviously in reference of God) and seem to have an overall message of hope.

The guy who plays in this band also played in Separatist and has a worship project called Quiet waters. While they might not label themselves or be a christian band (I actually dont know how they feel about that), it is going to be interesting to see this band on a label like Seasons in Mist. It is cool to see christian people put their music where they belong and that is right along the same line as their secular musical comrades.

I don't know whether or not these guys are Christians, but I think it is possible.
Edit: I misread your post the first time lol. That's cool that at least one of the guys in the band is a Christian.

The vocalist is and maybe some other guys because he said that there were other guys that were on Separatist and I guess that was a christian band or whatever they would call themselves. Anyways, hopefully the lyrical style continues to be honest but still offering a message of hope. Its gonna be an event to see that album relesed.

I really like the sounds of these guys! I'm curious about their lyrics of the upcoming full length too. The demo's lyrics are quite up-front:
There’s no light here My hands are raised though my shoulders ache and shudder beneath the weight This silence ringing in my ears, deafening like the lull of a final breath Drowning out Your voice I can’t feel You here I am not enough, mere dust of earth and breath of God
I can feel this body dying all around me This soul is wearing thin, but still You radiate You show me rest in this vessel, broken and weary from the strain Wash me over, wash me over
Come oh wind, oh breath of life Still these waves that seek to drown me My voice will rise above these looming mountains These towering pillars of loss and defeat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In this tempest of nothingness Searing like a spark of absence, flickering into flame This darkness is overwhelming Even still Your light consumes me
Saturate me As the stars of Heaven and their constellations cease to shimmer Come and shine bright, light of the divine Fracture the grip of the dark, dissolve in ruin and isolation Come and shine bright, light of the divine Saturate me

Sam Dishington, one of the members of the band, started a Christian grind project called Writhe. Check out the debut EP: writheau.bandcamp.com/

The band recently put up a teaser video for the album. It features some pretty cool ambience that I hope is included, but I was hoping to hear more of what it will actually sound like. www.facebook.com/departe/videos/1188984911120815/Still no release date or even an album title (unless the title is MMXVI...but I doubt it). Their Facebook posts are pretty infrequent. I am really looking forward to this one...I wish they would get it released!

With MMXVI being 2016 in roman numerals, it sounds like it's planned for this year.
Whoa, this is releasing on Season of Mist?

Yeah, I already knew it was planned for this year, but considering that their last release was Demo MMXIV (2014), I was saying that it wouldn't surprise me if they decided to actually name the album "MMXVI".
And yeah, it is, which is really cool. A Christian-influenced band getting on a pretty major label.

Seeing these guys live would honestly be amazing. Just from the sound of their studio recordings, you can tell it'd be quite the experience.

Same, although I won't really mind if I have to wait until I'm holding the CD in my hands. It'd be cool to have it be a surprise.
The more I listen to their demo, the more convinced I become that 3:27 in the song "II" is the most powerful and chaotic moment in black metal that I've ever heard. I can't think of anything that surpasses it as of right now.

Consider me disappointed! This is merely a re-recording of "I" from the demo. Odds are they re-recorded "II" for the album and give it a new title too.
I don't even like this re-recording as much as I like the original. The unproduction of the original breathed life into the song, and it just feels missing from this.

Isn't it interesting how much unproduction can sway our black metal hearts?
I listen to the Orationem "Not Live" stunt more than the actual first two albums for this very reason...

Awesome seeing yall talking about this band as they develop. And yeah I love raw black metal. But there are some parts of black metal that sound better hi-fi than lo-fi. I have a feeling this will be a big album. Bigger than Thranenkinds failure

I only listened once to the "new" song and on my crappy computer speakers so I can't really say much about the production... But regardless, I am mighty stoked for this one still! Bigger than Thranenkinds failure I'm not familiar with them? Are they a Christian band? What made it so bad?

Sorry is was a failed attempt of sounding knowledgeable in the contemporary BM scene. Maybe Thränenkind isn't big enough.... They've been a band since 2007 and even had stuff released on Pest Productions. They just came out with a new album with HORRIBLE vocals. thraenenkind.bandcamp.com/

Strangely enough, I discovered this album on Bandcamp just the other day while looking for music tagged with "straight edge" (which, imo, is kinda a misnomer for this band, considering that only some of them are straight edge). I mostly couldn't get into the band because I don't support anarchism and anti-capitalism, and something about both of those ideas rubs me the wrong way. Music sounds pretty good though. The vocals on that album don't really bother me. They seem like somewhat typical 'core screams, which is something that I like.

I like it a lot. Much more than Vessel, but that's probably because I haven't heard a demo version of this one before. I'm not sure if the song is better than the demo version of Vessel or not though. It'll be a few more listens before I figure that out. But it's a neat track for sure, and it's making me hopeful that this album will be amazing.
