I have some names of old unblack bands, and I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about them? Feel free to add others, if you know of any.
Edit October 2016: I removed Paradox and Tolath from this list, since we found enough info on them. Ideally I hope to get info on all these bands.
Akrythael
- A metal news page from 1999 lists them as "a new Christian Black Metal band". (See near the bottom of the page.) They also had a website that was deleted before archive.org could retrieve any info from it.
At the Altar
- From Pueblo, CO, USA. Drawnsword did a logo for them in 1997. Had a demo, not sure if it ever came out. Lyrics might have been printed in The Narrow Path zine.
Blissin Angel
- Likely from 1999-2000. Found an email address tied to them. The email address doesn't work anymore. They were apparently interviewed in "Wreathe of Thorns" and had a track featured on some Australian compilation?
Ceremonious Woods
- Might have released a demo in 2000, might be from Canada. web.archive.org/web/20000617181716/http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/Strasse/8378/CW.html
Man Killed Eden
- mke2000.faithweb.com/ ... Their "Members" page has almost the exact same text as the page below:
Ekklesia Mortifis
- web.archive.org/web/20010620004041/http://www.jesusfreak.com/3pillars/wantad.htm... Not sure if this is the same person, or what. Different email addresses. (Edit: They are the same person.) (Also apparently went by just EKKLESIA at some point?) Also, played death/black metal. At least under the name "EKKLESIA".
Unblack Star
- Supposedly released "The End of Profanation" in 2012? One song is on YouTube. youtube.com/watch?v=lt8WJKkpr1M I tried emailing the label. No response.
I found one page somewhere that mentions the band's existence and says the members are "from Brazil" and want to stay "anonymous".
Lucrecia (???)
- So... They do black metal, but they also have a depressive kind of rap song with profanity in it? ... myspace.com/lucreciaunblack "Everybodies Grudge". Not to mention part of their logo was plagiarized from a secular band called "Setherial". So... I dunno, is this even actually a Christian band? Also, I can't help but chuckle at that, "Our hearts are two, n*gga!" at the beginning of "Everybodies [sic] Grudge". It's just so weird, what do you even say?
Unevil Hopes
- Was featured on splits with VIXIVI and Bealiah. Apparently he's from Russia. Did this guy do metal music? Has anyone ever heard it?
Hipostenias Mefistofélicas
- Allegedly released a split album Baraque's Lord, Margorium, and Zacai back in 2005? I have no other info. youtube.com/watch?v=_tT3ysqtIe4
Siervo
- I can only find one song, taken from their MySpace. youtube.com/watch?v=-wrxpHWJUwc But they also (apparently) did these songs: Salvación / Sacrificio eterno / Alabanza / Salida del infierno
Worshiper
- From Brazil. Released an EP in 2006? Seems to be a one-man project.
V.O.F. (Valley of Fog)
- Mentioned here. Played "Speed Holy Unblack Metal", though this site calls them "black gothic rock". Here is the page referenced there on archive.org, but I can't seem to find anything about the band here. website URL that no longer works
Kastimonia
- Electronic black metal? Featured members of Renascent. More info on archive.org (click on a year at the top, then click on a date), Miseria's DeviantArt page
Kreuzträger
Appeared on a compilation.
Mortal Death
From the USA. Released a demo in 1997 (this site says 1996) that only consisted of guitars and vocals.
Crimson Crown
BandMix. BandSpace. Seem to have only ever released the two songs on their BandSpace. From an (unfinished?) EP called "March of the Eternal".
Cupressaceae
Myspace. One song is black metal with... no percussion? The other is... electronic music with black metal influences? Very, very weird project. Has two members: J. Pejacsevich Miko and J. Knowles.
Dark Souls
Mentioned here. This list lists their genre as black metal (as opposed to death/black, symphonic black, etc - so just black metal in a "normal" style)
Golgotha
Mentioned here. Too hard to Google - I can't find anything more.
Milhamah
Was featured on Carrying The Deadly Blast (Pt.3 & 4) and Unblack Metal Compilation (Vol. 1) - Not to Eternal Remain. Seems to be from Poland, and apparently had a split planned with Abdijah? Might have actually been a side project of Abdijah? The Myspace link on that page doesn't work anymore though, and isn't on archive.org.
Nazareo
Formed in 2000. From Ecuador. Myspace here with three songs and some photos. Band members: "Conde Ragnorok (guitar), Lord Eskol (drums), Lord Apokrypho (bass) and Sir Pathryark (vocals)". But according to Pathryark's page on Metal Archives, he's no longer in the band. This photo is terrifying.
Sanctus Obscurum
Was featured on "Revelations Vol. 1: A Light In A Dark Place" with the song "I Live In Death". Myspace with two more songs and a couple photos. This is written as a caption for the band picture: "IX. Ex Ignotus". Is that his stage name?... Also, they were apparently signed to Son of Man Records at some point.
Sempiternal Empire
From Bogotá, Columbia. Played death/black metal. Source with band logo.
Unblasphemy
Firestream says they're from Sweden, SoundCloud says they're from Russia. The Myspace has one song sample.
White Fire
Mentioned here. I can find nothing about this band.
Note: Some websites confuse this band with "With Fire", a sludge project. This is a different band.
Covered by His Blood
Started as "Cerebral Bore". From Perth, Australia. Myspace on archive.org with a bunch of band information As expected, neither of the songs works, though.
Khazad Dum
Mentioned here. I can find nothing else about them.
Ancient Sonnet
Mentioned here, but the Myspace link doesn't work anymore, and the list itself is pretty questionable - a few of the bands labeled "unblack" don't play black metal, and one or two weren't even Christian. So ...? Can anyone help out here? This is a Christian band. Also, grendel sent me a song that he had (thanks!) that I uploaded to YouTube now. I made the thumbnail - it's not official artwork.
Frozen Scene
Also mentioned here. The only thing I can find is the link on that page: here Can anyone help out..?
Martyrium
Mentioned here. Way too hard to Google. Site that no longer works
Rebirth
Archive.org. Had a logo designed by Joel Gustafsson.
Tetelestai
"Unblack deathcore"? Archive.org that no longer works.
Damonian Anario
"Death/black metal". Archive.org that no longer works.
Apploro
Website? Might have featured Pilgrim from Crimson Moonlight on vocals?? Might have had members named Jörundr, Rickur, Snorri, and Vithofdi?
