I decided to add Devil Beheaded (USA, active). I also added Legna Vaine, the project's previous name. Overall a bit more "heavy" than "black metal", but I mean, it's close enough. It's pretty much like Diamoth and Black Leather.

It´s pretty crazy how many bands you find. I'm really impressed and glad you do this. Keep it strong man.

Added: - Sonne der Gerechtigkeit (UA page pending), our first project from Austria!!, active - Rising Hour, USA, no longer identifies as Christian -- There are several of these mid 2000s bands that left Christianity, that aren't on this page yet. Many of them are already on UA. Sometime soon, I plan to go through the list and add them. I definitely need to send some emails (assuming I can still find the people in question??) to clear up things for a few of these projects.

I removed the "stopped being Christian" dates from Sabactani and Alfiginistair -- Jefferson has returned to Christianity!
I also added "etc" next to Sabactani to indicate it went through several name changes in the past.

I actually wondered how you managed to get that published so fast roflol. I checked to see if it was on Unblack Archives and sure enough it was It's just one single The most "difficult" part was cropping out some of the thorns to isolate the logo. Hahhh I could've sent you the high rez logo if you wanted me to haha. It's NP for me. Also, I second what he said. Your work is very much appreciated! There's no way a majority of the bands would have the publicity that they do (including mine) if it wasn't for you!

I noticed a R.A.C. tag on Bandcamp. It could simply be anti-communist, but I know it is often used as a euphemism for NSBM and the like.

I noticed a R.A.C. tag on Bandcamp. It could simply be anti-communist, but I know it is often used as a euphemism for NSBM and the like. I noticed that too, don't worry. In the case of Gyr, it definitely appears to be "anti-Communist", not nazist, as shown by the note in the bottom-right corner of the booklet. However I'm DEFINITELY being careful. I have definitely noticed more nazis have been showing sympathy to Christian ideals, as western politics become more polarized. (Most often, this seems to be because Christianity is "part of our heritage", etc.) NSBM will never be allowed on Unblack Archives, and I will never allow NSBM to be on this list (I would rather delete the thread altogether, than allow a nazi band on our list.) The only exception to this, is if someone formerly identified as a nazi and gave up their old beliefs when they converted to Christianity (as has happened a few times -- Morbus Mundi, Calvarium, Abdijah, etc)

Gyr is also the namesake of Radu Gyr, a noted anti-Semitic fascist in Romanian history who also promoted the Orthodox Church, from whose writings to band claims to draw their lyrics. Even with the statement, I am still skeptical about the band.

I am still skeptical about the band. I can see what you mean, definitely. But I figure, we'll let it be for now. He seems like a nice guy, and doesn't seem intent on promoting any "strange" ideologies. We'll see what happens as he releases more music, gives interviews, etc. I can say that, while the artist has a good grasp of English, it's not perfect yet. Sometimes his tone, or nuances in his phrasing (etc) can still be slightly awkward. So that's worth taking into consideration, as well.

Gyr is also the namesake of Radu Gyr, a noted anti-Semitic fascist in Romanian history Gyr is also a Zebu breed of cattle and an abbreviation used by astronomers as a "gigayear" (1 billion years). Myself, I'd be hesitant to draw a correlation of the "unblack Gyr" to the "Radu Gyr" since uh... antisemitism is almost always blatant.

It says right on the album on Bandcamp that the lyrics are from the works of Radu Gyr.

Quotation from Bandcamp: "Gyr is a one-man raw Unblack Metal project. Its aim is to musically instill the torturous conditions to which Christian martyrs have been subjected for their faith." And the two poems by Radu Gyr show exactly that... I just can't find any racism or NS-themes in those lyric lines. So imo basing on what we have by the project, at the moment, there is no actual reason to be too sceptical - so let's be open and see what will come in the future...

1) Apparently the guy from Brutal Cross moved to Ireland at some point, so I moved the project there. Thus, technically, our first-known Irish CBM project! 2) Added Primitive Church as per _'s comment! Thanks for the reminder!!

Yep. I plan to add a bunch of those "not Christian anymore" bands eventually. Ideally, I'd like to get a bit more information about them first, though.

Last Battle from Ukraine? Or maybe other-genred to fit into primarily black metal.
