I encounter Mother God people years ago, and they irritated me. Last one I met was condescending. I do not support false doctrines.

Orthodoxy tends to attract smug, arrogant egotists. I think any of the more cerebral denominations will do that--or at least attract a certain sort of smug, arrogant egotists. We all need Jesus. its just some people prone to zeal, don't really know how to productively approach people with all this new knowledge they have other than to just straight up be a bully about it. Exactly. As they learn more about the specific teachings of Christianity, they will ideally grow beyond that point, become more humble, and learn better how to pick and choose their battles. Like I said, the people I know who are Orthodox priests are wonderful, uplifting people.

Mother God people? Like, people who believe that God is "female?"

I realized that outside of my family (who don't live in the same city I do, so I only see them occasionally), I only really interact with about 3-5 real life people on a daily basis.
I am getting lockdown fever once again. I need to be around people and meet new people! I am 100% in favor of doing what is safest for our community, especially older people. But all this isolation (plus the massive increase in my social media use in order to try and compensate) has not been good for me. I feel like I'm going to go insane sometimes. Other times I just feel like I'm looking at a really boring future, and wondering how to take it.
Sorry to rant; having trouble winding down tonight and needed to say this to someone.

It’s okay to rant. A lot are tired of the shutdowns. Even me. I want to go to concerts again. I don’t know if things are going to get better. I tried to be optimistic, but when I see or hear the news about the Coronavirus, it makes me upset. It keeps getting worse. There is so much uncertainty and confusion going on. Just walk with God humbly.

I only really interact with about 3-5 real life people on a daily basis. I only really interact with 1 real life person on a daily basis. My wife. ...pretty much this way even before the pandemic too. Now, I see family/friends periodically, but never "daily". I think I've mentioned my perspective on loneliness/being alone elsewhere on this forum, at one time? I've been lonely, felt alone, in a crowded room before. I've also been the only person around for miles and not felt alone. I've concluded that aspect, is in my head. I think it has more to with my perception, than it does really about who's around or who's not around. If I had to point the finger at what's making you feel like I'm going to go insane sometimes. ...it would be this: the massive increase in my social media use in order to try and compensate IMO... filling the void of missing people in real life by using more social media, is like wanting to lose a little weight by drinking a quart of laxative. "reading" is only a small portion of actual communication, not to mention the toxic dumpster fire that social media can be in general. What can be done? Well there's loner distractions - play a game, write some music. I didn't see my mom for a few months, so we had rather epic phone calls. 2 hours, 2h30m calls. Call some folks bro, maybe it will help more? Sure it may not be ideal - it certainly isn't for me being on the phone all day at work to be on the phone more after work.... but I'm positive this is at least one reason the cabin fever hasn't got me yet.

I've been struggling with unhealthy internet/phone usage habits since I broke up with my girlfriend last year (I was probably having them before that tbh, but I could semi-justify it because I was either using a dating app or texting my gf (not at the same time lol)). I just have to admit that social media is junk food, and in this case I'm the guy who is about to get diabetes if he doesn't make some lifestyle changes.

I've been struggling with unhealthy internet/phone usage habits Very relatable bro. I'm fully convinced I have an addictive personality, but I'm trying to not be that "face in my phone all day" guy. I can keep away from social media, but games really pull me in. I try (emphasis on try) to just keep my face-in-phone time to just a couple hours a day.... but its tough.

Also, a good way to know storms are bad in your area. The fallen trees and telephone poles across the street from my house made the local news.

Do you guys prefer album layouts that have a "uniform" theme, or color palette, anything like that? Or do you prefer album layouts that are more random and varied?

Those odd jumps between fonts on the Nattesorg albums are hurting my eyes.
I don't remember where I read this, but someone once said to only use two kinds of font in any given design, and make sure the fonts don't look too similar to each other.

I'm not a universalist, but the concept of eternal punishment makes me almost physically ill.
I can accept the validity of the arguments for it; I just can't accept *it*. Much like the first stage of grief--denial.

I'm not a universalist, but the concept of eternal punishment makes me almost physically ill. I can accept the validity of the arguments for it; I just can't accept *it*. Much like the first stage of grief--denial. Me: *sees a can of worms and opens it* Yeeeeaaaah.... I don't buy into the ECT (Eternal Conscious Torment) view of hell myself for several reasons, and haven't for years. ....and I've been given "hell" *rimshot* for it by other Christians unfortunately. For one - the scriptures used to support ECT have an inaccurate context. (Revelation chapter 14 talks about the smoke of their burning will rise forever.... but Isaiah chapter 34 elaborates that this is talking about a city. Mark chapter 9 mentions their worm does not die, which again Isaiah 66 elaborates that its worms eating corpses at a fallen city. There are other examples, but I'll stop there for now.) For two - "forever" used in the Bible is used much like it is today. Literally, as well as figuratively. (1st Samuel chapter 1 verse 22, Hannah will leave Samuel at the tabernacle "forever". 6 verses later, it affirms he will be there for the rest of his life. Jonah chapter 2, he talks about being trapped in the walls of the earth "forever", but then praises God for rescuing him from that in literally the same verse. I have many more examples, but I'll stop there.) King James coined this to mean "literal eternity", but that's not what it literally means for the Old Testament Hebrew "olam", or the New Testament Greek aionion, aionios, aioniou, etc. If you check Strong's concordance, these words can mean a literal forever, or, it can mean for a long period of time that is not knowable. For three - this is a logical approach, not a scriptural one. The problem with ECT, implies that the human soul is inherently immortal. (actually a Gnostic construct) This reduces God's role to essentially "ferryman". ie: we already have immortal souls, God just takes us to heaven if we're saved, and takes us to hell if we rejected salvation. This contradicts the scripture that clearly states, that only God is naturally immortal. (mentioned in Deuteronomy) The other side of this coin is the idea that God somehow grants immortality to the hellbound, just so they can endure suffering in hell, which is not mentioned in scripture at all. (but many MANY mentions on how immortality is granted to the righteous) For four - I don't want to just say I don't agree without saying what I do agree with. Yes, hell is real. People will go there. How and what I think happens is actually outlined in Revelation chapter 20. Satan will be cast into hell, and along with the beast and the false prophet, will be tormented for "forever". So, just those 3 have something akin to ECT. Next, all the dead are judged. All of them. Death itself will be cast into hell, along with anyone who is not saved, for a second death. Revelation mentions this 2nd death 4 different times. "Death" in the Bible has never been slang for "tortured forever", a 2nd death means, the soul is destroyed. There are verses in Matthew and Ezekiel that discuss souls, that die and are destroyed. (cease to exist) I've been accused of being a universalist because I don't subscribe to the ECT process, but its more like annihilationism. (hell is like death row, and then execution to be just "gone".) Some of you may disagree with this assessment. I respect that fully. This is just the conclusion I've drawn with studying scripture for years. I will not pressure anyone to my/this view of hell.Actually, in the long run, two saved Christians arguing over what hell is like, is like 2 old housewives in hospice arguing over what astronaut training will be like in 2021. "The person who's really right, still isn't going." LOL

Maybe this is just a sign of another problem I have, but I honestly don't have a problem with the view of eternal punishment.
It's not ideal, no doubt about it. It would be ideal if all those people didn't have to suffer, and could instead enjoy the same things we will enjoy in Heaven.
But all the people who will face eternal punishment, will be people who deserve it. God is never wrong. God is the only fully objective judge of someone's spirit and their character. If someone goes to Heaven that we don't think should go there (eg Jeffrey Dahmer) it doesn't matter, because Dahmer met God's criteria for salvation (having a true faith in Christ as his lord and savior.) Likewise if we see someone we outwardly deem "virtuous" being sent to Hell, we can't say that God messed up or judged them wrongly. God knows them better than we ever will. We can debate all day about our own interpretations of goodness and how those interpretations line up (or don't line up) with what God has objectively instituted into our world. But at the end of the day, we view morality and reality itself through a lens that's intrinsically biased, and distorted by sin.
All of this has been made 100% undeniably crystal-clear to every single person in Hell. They're accountable for their choices. While I don't want them to be in Hell (and neither does God, Ezekiel 18:32 etc) they were given all the tools they needed and made a conscious choice to accept this fate.

What is it with long songs, and having a ton of silence at the beginning??
I'm listening to a black/grind song that's 28 minutes long. I forgot I was even listening to it until about 40 seconds in when I heard what sounded like a vacuum cleaner and I realized the sound was coming from my headphones - it was the song finally starting!
Why??

Am I the only person who can't listen to black metal during the summer? During the dark winter months I love this stuff, but I can't bring myself to listen to it during the summer. Maybe if I was going to a concert I could, but I just can't. I've also realized I have approximately one billion albums on my computer that I haven't listened to. I was on a name-your-price binge on Bandcamp for far too long.

But I'm not a fan of hot weather, so I think maybe I needed something subconsciously to work out my aggro. Luckily I live in Wisconsin and love Fall/Winter.

I was seriously contemplating leaving Reddit. While I use it for game discussion and some Christian subs, I've been quite annoyed at all the subs in its feed showing that its clearly a "left" platform, and the platform itself wreaks of stifling speech/opinions and shadow-banning to fit a narrative. Example: However, Two threads this week on this platform have all but completely changed that for me. 1) This thread was this r/AskReddit "Those of you who didn't vote for Trump in 2016, but will in 2020, what's changed your mind?" type thread. There were a number of people who stood up for those who "answered honestly", even if they disagreed with them. They also objected to people being downvoted just for answering sincerely. (upvotes and downvotes determine what responses are seen first) What also got me were the slew of comments that were like "I'm a liberal democrat, and this is why I'm voting for Trump in 2020". The reasons were varied, from Trump's prison reform, tackling sex trafficking, Trump won't take people's guns, the economy was good before this plague, Biden has dementia, Biden is racist ...even people saying they still don't like Trump at all, but are actually voting against their own party because they've been "disenfranchised" by rioters, being white and hated for it, or... they hate the lying media more than they dislike Trump, etc. This ^ thread was removed by the mods/Reddit, then it came back - last time I looked, over 7k responses. Other posts have shown up like it, reflecting a similar sentiment. 2) The other thread was actually the George Floyd body cam footage leak. "Wow" is almost an understatement. Lots of people, including myself, now resent more than ever the lamestream media portraying only part of the truth. I really don't think Floyd should have died, and I think the cop should get manslaugher over it, but I would not be surprised at all over a total acquittal now. (and because of that, wonder about the outrage to come, if that's the case) This body-cam footage totally smashes the idea that "Saint Floyd" was a upright citizen who was murdered over a misunderstanding or a non-violent crime. He was very intoxicated (perhaps overdosing, he had foam coming out of his mouth before he was even on the ground), resisted arrest and police commands (even the passenger in the vehicle told him to stop resisting), he was belligerent and even screaming "I can't breath" while he was still in the vehicle, among other things... (like he's been shot by police before and was still acting this way) This ^ thread has over 17 thousand comments. Bottom line, I was happy to see that on Reddit, serious discussions can take place, and there are some good people that can check their biases as well as have empathy for others. I'm reluctant to share links because, well, its still half a dumpster fire in places, but I would be happy to share them if requested.

Eh
On one hand, it seems like Biden is going to win, since Trump keeps annoying all the wrong people.
On the other hand, I'm not convinced that "voting" actually counts, so maybe it doesn't matter whom Trump annoys, as long as the "not NWO", "not Illuminati" etc have picked him out.
