On my way to see Fleshgod Apocalypse and Carach Angren in Chicago. Saw this at a pit stop and thought it was unusual.

The image is so small that I can't tell what I'm supposed to be looking at. It just looks like a McDonald's...

People say we're warmongering bigots. People also say we're too loving and forgiving to play black metal... So which one does society want us to be, exactly?

When its broken up different ways, it can be even more hilarious. Hey, I imagine come later this year (if I'm still alive) I'll be wanting to make more music and why not more songs for the 2nd year of this forum?

The more I talk to and learn about (person I mentioned before), the more I like her. Ordinarily, this would be a time for me to start considering if I actually want to ask her, but man. I am so tired from working out earlier, I don't know if my mind can even process something so complicated and of such importance. I might as well just consider this day one of working out, because I've done it so infrequently lately between colds, lack of motivation, and life generally getting in the way, I've surely undone most of the progress I made prior to today. I'm disappointed, I only managed to do one set of 20 push-ups, which was unexpected. I used to be able to do 6-7, maybe even 8 in one workout session.

Tell me about losing progress. I had 315lbs on the flat bench bury me on Monday. I normally lift 8 reps without a spotter, but my first set, rep 8 only went halfway up... ...then came back down and pinned me. There were plenty of guys around, which only made me throwing the weights off of me even more embarrassing. (Extremely loud) At least my second set was a solid 8. I'm worried about how much strength I'll lose when I'm recovering from surgery. __________________________ I wouldn't call asking a girl out "complicated" or "important". I'd save that for engagement or marriage. If she digs you, she'll only wonder what took you so long to ask. If she doesn't, well then, it was never meant to be and go ask someone else. Afterall, if you don't ask her, that's definitely a "no".

You have a point.
And I would not be embarrassed if I tried to lift 315lb and failed, haha. I probably couldn't lift half that weight on a good day, though I'm sure it sucks when that's been one's standard.

I'm with Thomas on that one, Nocturnal. Us guys got it tough in the sense that oftentimes by the time we build up the courage to ask a woman out, we've also built up such high hopes that a 'no' can be absolutely devastating. But I think Thomas totally hit the nail on the head: let proposal and "I do" be the important stuff and just ask her out! If you're feeling this strongly about her, it probably means it's nigh time to do something about it. My two cents anyways. More DDR material: zoo is wobble, done ranger flavor sauce, tell me who did what?

Poor English = trve kvlt statvs for non-native speakers only. Native speakers like us just have to write all our songs in poor Norwegian.

Had to go to the doctor yesterday as a walk in, for something unrelated to my cancer. A few days ago, I thought I got bit by a mosquito on my right wrist. Had 2 ichy bumps that I woke up with, thought it would go away after a while - like a mosquito bite. A day later, that itchy bump looked more like poison ivy. (like a bigger mound with little bumps). Then that mound went from the size of a quarter to the size of a baseball and started hurting along with the itching.
Right - time to go to the doctor. Apparently they're spider bites and they showed signs of infection? I've never been bitten by a spider before apparently.
I've always liked spiders. Every place I've owned, I always let spiders roam free because its cheap pest control. (aka I'd much rather have 10 spiders in the house than 193,572,472,277 ants.) My wife and I have a compromise that any spider larger than a quarter has to leave. (where I catch it, by hand, and let it outside)
Anyway, hydrocortizone cream, antihistamines and an antibiotic for the infection is what I was prescribed. I am in Brown Recluse territory. I shouldn't let those spiders stay since they're so dangerous, but again - years of leaving them be, I never had an issue.
Man, I love those HUGE wolf spiders. They're pretty awesome, even though they scare my wife. At least we both like the cute little jumping spiders. (they look like fat little baby tarantulas, only the size of a dime)

Ooh I like those little jumping ones too! This is the kind we have around here: That bite sounds pretty gnarly! Has it began to get better?

If you color that spider butt orange instead of red, that's the kind we have. (Again, they look like little mini tarantulas)
The swelling has gone down, and if I keep the bites wrapped, they don't itch as much. I think I may forgo taking any more Benedril until that sleepy meh feeling goes away.

Out of all the things I've taken since having cancer, Benedryl (over the counter, just one) messes me up more than anything. I'll either take it and be fine, or it feels like I took 20 sleeping pills.

Why are so many of my favorite genres full of extremely questionable things? Black metal, martial industrial, almost all subgenres of ambient, noise... I feel like a nazi just listing my musical preferences. Well, I'm listening to pop now, so... This song in particular isn't bad, but I mean, even pop is generally full of obscenity. I could always listen to country and listen to songs about alcoholism and hedonism. Or rap, and listen to songs about fornication and killing people. Okay, now I'm listening to the only Akcent song I know. Pop music. I wish other genres had comprehensive databases like metal does. I would really like to get more into other genres, but it's pretty difficult without a, say, "Rap Archives" or "Pop Archives". Or maybe there are such things, and I just haven't found them yet? Wow, this Akcent song brings back memories. As for rap music, a quick Google search pulls up this. I'll have to keep it in mind.

There's questionable themes even in classical music. Heard an opera on public radio a couple months ago and some of the lyrics were "you greedy bitch".
Questionable themes sells, just like dirt sells in the news. I'd be more interested in a story regarding the investigation of a serial killer than a local man who saved a puppy.
Myself, I choose to view such things as fantasy and entertainment, (that I may or may not have to like) rather than try to view it as a square peg to my round faith.

I've kicked around the idea of storming the gangsta rap scene with a dark-symphonic beat-heavy project full of aggressively spoken gothic and black metal vocals. A lot of those artists have a stronger sense of "art form" than some other genres of music, I think if it was done right, it could be HUGE.

I've played around with the idea of doing a rap or hip-hop album over the years. But much like metal, I've always been unable to decide what to include in it if I ever made it. There are a lot of possibilities - way too many to fit into a single album, and while I like the genre, I'm not really passionate enough about rap music to dedicate myself to several albums of it.
Edit: But hey, keep in mind, I all but swore off the guitar a few months ago in the Look Above You at the Sky thread, and now I'm writing an album based almost entirely on guitar riffs. Who knows?

I did some rap tracks for a dude back when Hguols was active. He never did anything with them to my knowledge.
The outside of the puzzle is done. Just a matter of figuring out how to make the pieces fit and getting motivated enough to bring thought to something tangible.
I'm honestly not that motivated. Orationem fills my music drive completely, and that's a good thing.
