I need to order more books. Jeez! Who needs a publisher when I have my mother. She bought 20 books, I got them made and gave them to her Wednesday January 9th. She is already OUT and wants 20 more books. ( O - O)

Hard to believe I've sold almost 50 books this month.
My wife's grandmother got one of these for Christmas too. She took the book to her Sunday School class - apparently the teacher loved it, read some of the prayers in class, and the teacher and the pastor want their own books. XD

Yeah.... that church bought a lot of books. I have 5 books left just for orders from the website. I'm not going to rule out ordering more books.... but I probably won't do so unless demand for them starts after I run out...

I did some "video tests" yesterday. I want to turn the new Salvation track into an official music video. Most likely, recording for it will take place between this upcoming Wednesday - Friday.
My wife's grandmother wanted me to call her a few days ago. She told me some feedback regarding the books the church bought.
I guess 1 church member was going through some hard times, binge read the whole book and found it "encouraging". Another church member is going straight up "devotional" for it. 1 page a day. Repeat.
It made me feel good to hear that, even though I'm little more than just a "words delivery man" for God's strength, love and glory.

I did some "video tests" yesterday. I want to turn the new Salvation track into an official music video. Most likely, recording for it will take place between this upcoming Wednesday - Friday. GUH... I'm freakin' exhausted. Spent the better part of today working on this. Running around like a madman in a wildlife sanctuary (forest), in sandals (cause I don't wear foot prisons shoes), in the mud, puddles and some rain. ...all while holding out a phone. Ever done that for hours? Shoe buddy - its like a full body workout. Ended up shooting over 31 minutes of footage. The "better part of today" involved travel, technical difficulties, multiple takes, outside interruptions, etc. Editing will be more time consuming - using the best of the footage I took for a 7 minute track.... but at least THAT won't feel like a workout, since I can just sit or stand at my desk to work on it. I'm not even going to LOOK at the footage I shot today. I might give editing/compiling a go tomorrow though...

I might give editing/compiling a go tomorrow though... Heh. Done. I mean, done done. Ready to publish. Very harsh. Very ugly. Very well put together. In other words, this video is just like my music. LOL I'm quite satisfied with it. Now I have a high class problem. When do I upload it for others to see? Since this is an exclusive/new/comp track, I wanted to wait for the comp release... but I shot my "want" right in the foot because now I want other people to see it. XD

Utter wait fail. Don't look if you'd rather first hear the song from the comp. If you'd rather your first experience be with the video, then.... enjoy!

I have no idea why those subtitles got as grainy as they did. I used the highest format I've always used before. The original video file is almost 2Gb in size and the subtitles are crystal clear.
Meh. It doesn't bother me. If my mom can follow along with it, no reason anyone who actually listens to metal can't.
EDIT: My video editing software tricked me. The video I uploaded was 1920x1080 but for some reason, when I exported to the highest quality AVI format, it to 720x480. Anyway, MP4 did the trick, and a new video at a new URL has been uploaded to the 1920x1080 resolution.

HOORAY! Also, this made my day. Also, had to update the merchandise section of orationem.com because I am SOLD OUT of books. I'm going to wait and see what "trade book" sales they have later before I order again...

I've ordered more books and they've shipped. When I have them in hand, I'll put them for sale again on the site. Also, thinking about doing another single track for Orationem YouTube. ...perhaps as another official music video...

Books can be bought from the Orationem shop again. My order was delivered today. Shameless plug for this book: Don't sleep on it if you're thinking about ordering one! It's a really great collection of prayers, suitable for use as a daily devotional. I've found it really helps when I'm feeling kind of down or distant from God to just open it at random and read whatever prayer turns up. Without fail, I'll get one that will pull me out of my head and get me thinking differently. Highly recommended to everyone on TBL!!

XD I too like to open to random pages and re-absorb the prayer. ...much like how I listen to Orationem to re-absorb the prayer. I do wish I could see it with new eyes - as something that I didn't write and put together. The best I can do right now is revisit it. :B A lady from my wife's grandmother's Sunday school class.... and a guy that's a friend of my parents - two people who don't know each other and got a book, both gave me the same comparison. (its like Psalms) I personally don't my book is worthy of that comparison, but I'm beyond flattered. XD

So, the local library (a few minutes walk from my house) has a pretty detailed website. There was an email address for contact as well. I figured - why not. I'd email them to ask if there was any interest in local authors. I told them I wasn't trying to get the library to buy books, but if there was an interest, I'd drop one buy so people could check it out. I said it was a book of written Christian prayers.
I was pretty much ghosted. No response. I'm interpreting that "answer" as "no".
I'd also like to work on another Orationem track - something a tad shorter than Salvation, but also a music/lyric video. Its really hard to start a make-music-grind when I've got stuff scheduled on my days off. Oncology follow up Wednesday. Easter dinner with mom Thursday.
Starting, isn't going to happen this week...

I got an email from a Portuguese Christian Metal YouTube channel requesting I make an "intro" video for them. I guess they wanted that to talk about the "When We Are Wounded" album. ....so I got that done today.

It's pretty awesome that there are people from another continent who listen to your music. It's kinda dumbfounding, isn't it?

It's pretty awesome that there are people from another continent who listen to your music. It's kinda dumbfounding, isn't it? Yes! I can't help but think of the hurdles involved. They'd have to first find my music, from Brazil no less, then they'd have to like it to want to discuss it on their channel. Their videos seem pretty well produced - I mean, there's a green screen thing going on. I only get so much out of it, you know, because I don't understand Portuguese. XD

I wish I knew what he was saying. LOL I can sort of get some bits and pieces when I use the YouTube subtitles, and choose "auto-translate" from the settings. I don't know what made me lawl more "burst the eardrums right" or "god this cover that's hideous dude"

That's 3 days in a row of recording drums. I got all the hard beats done, and will probably finish after work today or tomorrow. Most likely, tomorrow.
