Greetings all on The Blackest Light!
I'm sorry for my absence and having to go through admins here to keep everyone updated on this compilation. I wanted to personally give an update and relay some news… First, this was a very successful release! Due to receiving pre-orders via the Fallen Oak Recording webstore, it sold out before they even arrived from the manufacturer! Some of these are slated to be resold on Metal Helm's website, and Vision of God Records will also be carrying them. Having said this, there is a good chance a second pressing would do well. However, I want to ask everyone here who contributed, and as members, if you would like to consider this, or keep it strictly limited to the first run of 100. I will honor the wishes of the forum and it's administrators – but just wanted to put this out there. Now, for the "news."Due to a glaring error on the part of the CD manufacturer, the release date will have to be pushed back by at least two weeks to March 21st. Upon arriving and inspection of the CDs, somehow they repeated two songs on the album and left one off. I've very dismayed by this, as it was definitely an error on their part. I have all the necessary files, digital forms and screen shots to prove they pretty much just "messed up" in creating the master disc from which the copies were made. I'm currently working with them to see what they will do to remedy this. I may have to mail the copies I have back and let them repress the entire run, or they may simply send corrected copies and I'll have to manually replace them in the cases. (I'm not a fan of this second option, as all 100 are shrink wrapped) I will keep everyone posted as this progresses, and deeply apologize for this. I take sole responsibility for making sure we release a quality product that everyone who contributed to can be proud of, and that glorifies the Lord. I see this as the enemy trying to hinder us from spreading the "blackest light" in the darkness, but we will prevail! Digital editions of the album will be submitted to iTunes, Amazon, Google, etc. this week, and will hopefully coincide with the correct, repressed CDs being mailed out. Finally, just as a follow up, if you submitted a song, please email your mailing address to me so I can send your complimentary copy once they arrive: vialsofwrath@yahoo.com
Thanks and God bless!

I've all for kvlt limited pressings, but when every single copy is spoken for before the album is even released, there needs to be more. That's just my vote, and in my opinion, my vote shouldn't weigh any more than anyone else's here. Due to a glaring error on the part of the CD manufacturer, the release date will have to be pushed back by at least two weeks to March 21st. Upon arriving and inspection of the CDs, somehow they repeated two songs on the album and left one off. I've very dismayed by this, as it was definitely an error on their part. I see this as the enemy trying to hinder us from spreading the "blackest light" in the darkness, but we will prevail! That's a bummer, but no biggie. You're not the only one having problems with pressing companies. CMU has tried multiple MULTIPLE times for that "Orationem & Fulfiller, Sustainer, Preserving Protector" on one disc. My copy arrived looking PERFECTLY, but the pressing company only included 12 of the 13 songs on the CD. (Even seen screenshots from Duane where he absolutely did it correctly) Good things come to those who wait and this is one of them! DC, I know I've said this about every e-mail to you, but THANK YOU so much for everything you've done to make this release happen.

It is awesome that this has done well enough that pressing more is a viable option! If you feel the demand is there, by all means, extend the print run.....just don't overextend yourself financially doing it!

I don't think there should be a second pressing on CD,.... Possibly a different media option such as vinyl or cassette tape. However, if there is a second run. A different cover would be cool

A different cover would be cool I think the covers fine, but if you want to differentiate you could always add to the cover "2nd Pressing" or something. For those collector types out there

I was thinking more of a different color,... like red or something. As a collector of sorts, just adding the wording of "2nd Pressing" doesn't really make you go "Wow, I need to grab this."

Yes but its useful when buying albums to know "ok is this the original pressing, or the 2nd pressing". Me, I don't care, but I've had people ask me questions like that about CDs I'm selling

I voted yes but as was already said, I think it'd be good to differentiate the versions somehow. Also, it sucks for the folks who bought the original if there's a re-release with new material on it or something. Like Blake said, maybe just change the color or something and note that it's the second pressing somewhere.

I don't know the scene in states so well but I guess it would be great to do second pressing, since it is project to show all the bands and all of them have many fans. Personally I am sad that the shipping to Europe cost so much. We have lot of fans who would maybe buy it but for that shipping price they will definitely not.
About the cover art or changes I would not care that much. It is the same material with the same year of release.
DC if you will do more CDs then I would like to get more also for the distro in Slovakia. So instead of sending me the first copies I would wait also for the second press and you could send me more of them as one package with one price of shipping.

Yeah, if re-press happens, I'm interested in purchasing some more copies as well.

I think it would be wise to make more copies. There is a demand for it.
Maybe you can solve the problem of a repress by adding the number of copies. The first press was limited to 100. Maybe you can add as info on the back cover of the repress "repress of 101 to 200 copies."
I wouldn't mind if it is kept entirely identical.
1. Nothing has changed. 2. Same artists 3. Same label 4. Same year
Just promote it then as not limited to 100 but to ***. Or just as undisclosed.

I agree with revivedbylight1 100%. Press as many as you can as long as there is demand for it. Just make a little something on the packaging to distinguish "First 100" from any repress.

UPDATE: So here's where we are on this compilation... STILL trying to get the CD manufacturer to honor their response to send more CDs. Tomorrow will be three weeks since I received the bad batch. I said the new ones would be sent out by March 21st per what they told me. Now, after four phone calls to customer support, I still don't have them. I'm not one to bad-mouth anyone, but I will now say this: Don't EVER use EasyDisc.net. I've had very good luck with them in the past with previous Vials of Wrath releases, but this has turned me away for good. Apparently if there's any kind of problem, they will avoid you like the plague – even if it's their fault. In case anyone is wondering, I will spill the beans on the specific issue: The Slave Eye's track appears twice in a row, and Stormsinger's song is nowhere to be found on the album. EasyDisc made a mistake when creating the master CD from which they made copies, and they know it. They offered to have me send all 100 CDs back to them and start a new order, but (in the customer support rep's own words) "this would take about 6 weeks." As they would have to be mailed via media mail across the country to California, they would have to burn new CDs, repackage them, and ship them back after processing them as a new order. OR, as I agreed to let them do to save time, just have new CD's ran off and sent to me to repackage myself in the jewel cases I now have. (The second option from my initial posting – which I'm still not a fan of, but agreed to). Unfortunately the update gets worse. iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc. will not accept compilation albums from independent labels – i.e. Fallen Oak. Having just discovered this, I'm now forced to use Bandcamp to distribute digital copies. On the plus side, I've already set up a Fallen Oak page, and I'm sending out free download codes to everyone who has pre-ordered in good faith that this album will see the light of day eventually. For those interested in listening to the album online, you can check it out here: fallenoakrecording.bandcamp.comFinally, and ironically, The Slave Eye has requested to not be featured on the digital version of the album as they are in negotiations with possible labels, and need total control of their music digitally. I wish them all the best in this and hope everyone understands as I give them my full support in this decision. According to the poll, a second pressing may still be a desired option (if we ever get the first one - lol), but I agree there needs to be something to differentiate it. If there is another run, there will be something to denote a "second edition."

Checking out the bands I've never heard before; Stormsinger sounds AWESOME! Whose project is that again? Same with Sentinel Mysterium! Anyway, sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with this, DC. Like the others have said though, what you've done so far is definitely appreciated!

Stormsinger is my stuff, drum track was a much appreciated assist by Thomas......LOL! Cheap plug: I have an album's worth of demo tracks here, though they are guitars only with some errors here and there at this point: soundcloud.com/exolasher/sets/no-drums-demo-2016

I added your project to "United States" for the "Unblack Around the World" thread, is that accurate? Or if you'd rather not say where you are (which I 100% understand) I can move it to the "Unknown" section.

That's fine. Northern Indiana if you want to be specific, though I don't know that I'd qualify my stuff as "unblack". I just make "music".......😉

I think I'm going to wait until the CD arrives instead of downloading the digital version since it doesn't have The Slave Eye.

Late to the party, I know. Is there still a way to order a physical copy? If not, I'll just buy digital. The original run sold out before DC even got the (flawed) discs in his hands, I believe. Don't think a second run has been confirmed yet, though there is some definite interest in one. If you feel patient, you can wait and see what comes of the results of the poll at the top of the thread.....if not, digital is probably the way to go.

CDs arrived yesterday; all orders were sent out today!
And due to some extras I had ordered (in case of damage during shipping, for reviews, etc.) there are 20 available via the Fallen Oak webstore, and Bandcamp pages. These DO NOT include those set aside for bands who have asked for additional copies to resell – I'm contacting them directly to work out shipping rates for bulk orders. Also, Metal Helm and Vision of God Records will each have copies in stock to resell. If these last 20 sell out quick, and there is a demand for more, I will consider a second run of 50-100 second editions per comments and poll results above. These will be designated "2nd Edition" somewhere on the album.
Having said that, this was still limited to 100 copies available for non-contributing bands/artists. There were actually 120 pressed: 15 for contributing artists, 5 for reviews/spare (in case of damage/loss in shipping, etc.); and 100 to sell to public.
Thanks to all for your patience and understanding with the delays in getting this out. Despite the obstacles, I feel this was a very successful release and I look forward to doing Volume 2 next year! Start getting your songs ready, as there is only room for 77 minutes of music and it will be first submitted gets first consideration for placement.
God bless!

Great! Good idea by doing an eventual repress.
