It would be photography collaged to hell but I can try an artwork and see if you all can dig it. ^ I like the idea of thevociferator doing the artwork. Anyone remember his industrial-esque collages?

so what do you all think of this?

Kind of feel like the text color should be a bit brighter. Other than that, I personally think it looks awesome

so what do you all think of this? Its beautiful - but what is the image from? If its from a picture you took or a picture you have the rights to - it's excellent. (looks like there are "scratches" on the image though?) If its a 'shopped version of an image that someone else created - I'd be more reluctant to see it used. Also, the first Vol compilation used the "The Blackest Light" logo from the forum. Myself, I'd like to see it make a return for Vol 3.

I like it, but for some reason it does not seem to fit for this release, in my opinion.

If you can email me the logo png I can put it on. I can make some more edits to see if I can get a better feel with it.
And yes I did take the photo. It was Christmas 2016 in Yosemite National Park.

I like it, but for some reason it does not seem to fit for this release, in my opinion. I had the same thought at first, but I personally am planning to contribute some more "atmospheric"-oriented stuff this year, for which this cover art would be quite fitting.

hmm i could just do it without the "hymns of" part. I think that would look better

Mr. Eversole, 1. Who did the artwork on the first two?
2. What is the rush on locking bands down? Is there a possibility of picking up more bands if it is pushed off a little?
I take it that you are heading this up? Thanks,

hmm i could just do it without the "hymns of" part. I think that would look better Hm... I think if 1) both lines of text were centered, or if 2) neither line was centered, that'd pretty much fix it. Also, (maybe) if both lines were written the same way (currently, the top line isn't in all caps, but the bottom one is) These are just suggestions though. If other people think differently, feel free to chime in

this does look better. But I actually think it would look amazing with just the logo. I think the logo really fits with this picture

1. Who did the artwork on the first two? DC Mills (Vials of Wrath) through Fallen Oak Recording did. Since he was unable to participate for Vol 3 because of new contract obligations, we're having to figure this out ourselves. What is the rush on locking bands down? The reason these compilations exist is to celebrate this forum's anniversary. As of January 24th 2019 this forum is 4 years running. The "rush" is so we're not just now getting around to "celebrating" this release 6 months after the fact. Considering it can take a month or two for someone to create a custom song, a month or two to finance the release, Vol 1 was released February 2017, Vol 2 was released March 2018, locking down the number of bands "this soon" is only being timely. I take it that you are heading this up? Nope. We're heading this up - not me. This is not my comp, and I'm not producing it either.

Orationem Bozkath Stormsinger Sentinel Mysterium Proven Existence TIMORATUS Omsorg Amelioration (not sure the project name but entry from theshroudedwinter) (not sure the project name but entry from thevociferator) I think it would be good to commit to the compilation roster TODAY.... If anyone objects, speak now or forever hold your peace. This looks to be 10 Artists with 7.5 minutes running time to work with. (I don't see why 7.5 minutes couldn't be divided up between multiple tracks) I'll be reaching out to Duane (Vision of God Records) to figure out how many panels could work for the insert(s) to feature all lyrics. Is 1 month from now for a submission date good for you bros? This is plenty of time for me, I'm sure. Please let me know if you'll need more time. (though I think some of you are already working on your tracks?)

Hey so after making the artwork I got inspired and now I have a song halfway finished. So I'm in. Still trying to figure what band name to use but I'm definitely in.

my song is mostly written, I tried recording it earlier today and it didn't fully impress me so I'll get back to it probably on tuesday. It will be super raw caveman blackened death metal. New style for me so I'm excited!

I was hoping to get more done today, but some is better than none. Half the drums are done for my track...

The drums are finished for my track now. Running time will be close to 7 minutes - and the style of course will be similar to what's on "When We Are Wounded". The theme of the Orationem song will be "salvation" related. I don't know why I haven't done a salvation-type-prayer before - you know, like POV prayer lyrics where Jesus is asked into the heart/life, but.... better late than never. My guitar (like my drums) is normally in my office - which due to this extreme weather, is the coldest room in my house. (my office needs new windows ) Cold doesn't really effect drums too much, at least my busted-up ears can't tell a difference... ...but that temperature will interfere with with the guitar (tuning/strings) First thing this morning, I moved my guitar to my living room so the strings can acclimate to a better "room temperature". I'm thinking I'll START on the guitar later today after it has warmed up... but as always with recording music, its spontaneous and "off the cuff".

thevociferator - can you tell me what project name your using for this comp entry please? I asked Duane about 6/8 panel, vs 2 panel. This of course will effect the cost of the CDs sold - so VoG won't be in the red. ...but I think 9.99 per CD is doable. Lets go for the more panels. I got sidetracked from recording guitars for my track. I'm hoping to nail that down before this weekend though...

to be honest i'm really struggling with coming up with a band name for this project. Would it be alright if it remained untitled. There is definitely already a song title for the song but the band name is something of a mystery for me to figure out.

Would it be alright if it remained untitled. Sorry to be blunt bro, but a no-name project on a pro-press compilation comes across (to me) as more "missing" than "mysterious". I've heard your music before. I know you know what you're doing, and I have zero concerns regarding the quality of your track... but your track needs deserves a "source" name. Work the system if you need to. Even "No Project Name" is still a project name...
